Hello!

I’m a Senior Associate in Energy and Climate at the Grattan Institute in Melbourne, Australia. Prior to this I was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Oxford University working on the political economy of climate change and the energy transition. I am also a Skoll ECR Fellow at the Saïd Business School. Alongside my work at Grattan I’m also an Associate at Oxford’s DPIR and Nuffield College, where I moonlight with my favourite CVP folks (Climate Vulnerability Project)! I received my PhD and MPhil in International Relations from Nuffield College, Oxford University, and my BA (Hons) from the Australian National University.

I love using data to tell stories and test arguments. It’s important to me to be really rigorous about the claims we make, or the policies we pursue. Mostly, I care about making sure we’re pursuing the right policies for meaningful decarbonisation.

In my past academic life, my PhD focused on firm behaviour and cooperation problems in international political economy (climate change, geopolitics, the design of trade agreements). I’m trained in R, Python, statistics, causal inference techniques, data analytics, computational methods, and machine learning techniques. I work at the intersection of business–politics and public policy, with a big focus on the political economy of climate change.
